How to travel to Trieste

Trieste International airport (Ronchi dei Legionari) has several national and international flights and is well connected to some European hubs from where it is possible to reach all the destinations around the world. Some national and international destinations like Birmingham, Budapest, Copenhagen, London, Milan, Munich, Paris, Prague and Rome are directly reachable from Trieste. The distance from the airport to Trieste (or ICTP) is about 35 km and direct connections are available by private shuttle and public bus.

Venice International airport (Marco Polo)

The distance from the airport to Trieste is about 150 km. It is connected daily to the nearby railway station of Mestre-Venezia (direct line to Trieste).

Ljubljana airport (Brnik)

The distance from the airport to Trieste is about 114 Km. The airport is connected with the center of Ljubljana (railway station) by private and public bus. Important: there are no more borders between Slovenia ad Italy

By Train

Central railway station, Trieste. Daily connections with all major Italian cities and many European capitals.

By Car

The highway A4 connects Trieste with the rest of Italy and Europe.
