Trieste European City of Science in 2020

It is a great announcement: Trieste will host the EuroScience Open Forum – ESOF 2020, the most important European event dedicated to science, technology, society and policy.

Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is among the scientific institutions participating in this event, which will take place from July 4th to 10th 2020 with the theme 'Freedom for Science, Science for Freedom'. 

 

In the words of Prof. Fantoni, President of the Trieste International for the progress and freedom of science (FIT) : "We are looking forward to working with EuroScience to make Trieste 2020, with the theme 'Freedom for Science, Science for Freedom'. Our vision of Trieste as a hub for science, business and society interactions in a wide geographical area such as North-East of Italy and Central Eastern european countries has been the true winning key. The nomination of Trieste as host for ESOF 2020 is very exciting and it is viewed by all of us as a very important step for the development of a future international Science Center".
