Installing TANGO

Download TANGO from:
http://www.tango-controls.org/downloads/source/

Configuring

The TANGO server must be set to:

  • you must create a Windows sytem variable called TANGO_HOST and set it to: "nanosp-control1.esce.elettra.trieste.it:10000".
  • The host pc must be enabled to send commands to the monochromator server

There should be noconflicts with other CORBA classes, i.e. classes controlling ORB naming etc. To ensure this, go to C;\Tango\bin and open the file common.bat. Replace:

  • set CLASSPATH=%CLASSPATH%;%TANGO_JAVA_ROOT%\log4j-1.2.15.jar

with

  • set CLASSPATH=%TANGO_JAVA_ROOT%\log4j-1.2.15.jar
