Langmuir-Blodgett film morphology

AFM study of CdSt and CoSt LB films show differences in their in-plane morphologies: the first ones shows self-affine behaviour, while the second ones have a much more flexible inplane structure. The microscopic analysis of  of these multilayers has been compared with a polarization dependent NEXAFS analysis of CoSt at the O K edge.

AFM study of cadmium stearate and cobalt stearate Langmuir Blodgett films show differences in their in-plane morphologies: the first ones shows self-affine behaviour, while the second ones have a much more flexible inplane structure. The microscopic analysis of  of these multilayers has been compared with a polarization dependent NEXAFS analysis of CoSt at the O K edge. The series of measurements showed no variation of the main absorption peak with change in polarization angle, signifying no preferred in-plane orientation of head groups in the CoSt LB films.
