AntiHelix / Training

"Helicase Webinars": Helicases and Genome Maintenance. March-May 2021

A Research Theoretical Course on "Helicases and Genome Maintenance: structure, mechanism and role in disease" was planned to follow the AntiHelix First Plenary meeting in Trieste. As an alternative, we invited some of the world experts in the field to give a series of webinars on the structure and function of human helicases and their involvement in genome maintenance and diseases (Click on the figure to enlarge).

"Science Dialogues": Science Communication & Social Media. SISSA Medialab, December 2020

The course on science communication that was supposed to be held in Trieste, following the First Plenary Meeting, was carried out online, and included both lectures and workshops, covering subjects ranging from the need to communicate science and the public role of scientists, to the effective use of social media.

A number of follow-up workshops, in small groups, allowed the students to get better acquainted with different social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) and to be actively involved in using these platforms to disseminate the aims and results of AntiHelix, to introduce all the members of the Consortium, and to share interesting scientific news with a variety of expert and non-expert audiences.
