Bio

I am a postdoctoral researcher, working on X-ray imaging and its biomedical applications.
I developed my interest in medical imaging, while completing the Master’s degree in Physics at the university of Trieste. I worked within the clinical project SyrmaCT, which was focused on the development of breast computed tomography with synchrotron radiation.
I deepened my knowledge in biomedical imaging at the European Synchrotron Radiation facility in Grenoble (France), where I developed high-resolution dynamic (4-D) microscopy for in-vivo lung imaging at the former biomedical beamline ID17. During my career at ID17, as a PhD student and postdoctoral fellow, I could develop my skills in X-ray imaging at large scale facilities, from the point of view of biomedical applications and of instrumentation.
In 2022 I decided to leave large scale facilities, to refocus my studies on laboratory sources. I joined the Strobe team at Grenoble Alpes University, working on Modulation ased phase contrast imaging. The passion for optics and coherence led me to the Advanced X-ray Imaging Group (AXIm), where I worked with Dr. Silvia Cipiccia on the translation of Far-Field Ptychography to laboratory sources, with the ultimate goal of investigating biomedical applications of coherent imaging outside large scale facilities.
In 2026 I moved back to synchrotrons (Elettra, Trieste), where I started exploring biomedical applications of soft X-rays, specifically ptychography, scanning transmission X-ray microscopy and low energy X-ray fluorescence, while keeping collaborations on laboratory-based X-ray sources.
