Elettra 2.0: completed the upgrade of the cryogenic plant

As part of the Elettra 2.0 project, the upgrade of the cryogenic plant has been successfully completed together with the commissioning of the new control system. The first liquid helium for Elettra 2.0 has now been produced.

The upgraded plant will provide liquid helium to the third-harmonic superconducting cavity, the superconducting wiggler and all users requiring liquid helium for their experiments.

The new control system enables operators to remotely monitor and control the entire liquid helium production and distribution process, improving the efficiency and flexibility of plant operations.
