International Award FEL 2019 to Enrico Allaria

Hamburg, 29 August, 2019 Dr. Enrico Allaria from Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste was awarded the FEL Prize 2019. The award ceremony was held at the social dinner of the FEL 2019, the 39th International Free Electron Laser Conference. The FEL prize is given to a person who has contributed significantly to the advancement of the field of Free-Electron Lasers. Enrico Allaria won the price "for his seminal contributions to seeded FELs including advanced operating modes in HGHG FEL as well as the first demonstration of EEHG FEL in the soft X-ray regime." Dr. Allaria is currently working at FERMI, the FEL user facility operating at Elettra since 2011, coordinating the machine development activities. He has been part from the beginning of the team that successfully designed and commissioned FERMI playing a central role in this endeavor. His outstanding knowledge of the field, his innovative ideas, and the passion and dedication he has always demonstrated were rightfully acknowledged by the Prize Committee. |
