Students of the Vasa International School of Gavle at Elettra within an educational programme

On March 14 and 15 2023, Elettra hosted 5 Swedish students from the 4th year of the Vasa International School in Gavle, Sweden, with which Elettra has a 20-year collaboration.
The group came to Trieste for an exchange with other students from the Oberdan High School in Trieste, with the aim of gaining a study experience and an insight into the city and the economic, scientific and research system.
The students spent two intense days at Elettra. The programme included a lecture on synchrotron radiation by Roberto Visintini, and on technology transfer by Cristina Modolo, as well as a visit to the Elettra experimental hall led by Jasper Plaisier, FERMI and the Control Room with Giuseppe Penco, and the Nanolab with Loredana Casalis. Some practical aspects of the techniques used and the applications of the research results were illustrated directly on the Syrmep beamlines by Elena Longo, and Magnedyn by Marco Malvestuto.
