Elettra achieves ISO 9001 certification

A pioneer among other European synchrotron light facilities, Elettra has achieved the certification for quality management issued by the DNV-GL certification body, according to theinternational ISO 9001:2008 standard. Beyond Europe, of all the infrastructures using synchrotron light worldwide, Melbourne’s Australian Synchrotron alone has achieved this.

Indeed, this feat is borne of a relentless effortin managing and monitoring company processes over the past two years and bears witness to the quality and unwavering betterment of the scientific offerand services delivered by Elettra to both researchers and businesses knocking on its door. DNV-GL (one of the most distinguished certification bodies worldwide), has assessed all the organisational and management components, as well as - from an operational point of view - the activities undertaken bythe Industrial Liason Office and by theXRD1 beamline (an experimental station using X ray-diffraction for the analysis of materials).

“ISO 9001 certification – says Elettra’s General Coordinator Mauro Zambelli - acknowledges the excellence of the principles and methods on which our company is grounded, thereby complying with the topmost corporate standards for providing quality products and services”. “This acknowledgement – he adds - on the one hand  confirms the level of the scientific research conducted at Elettra and, on the other, it consolidates Elettra’s relations with industry thanks to its compliance with a common organisational standard”.
