The talk describes the Automatic Beamline Alignment project at ELETRA. After a short introduction a portable framework for the development of Automatic Beamline Alignment systems is presented.

The framework based on the concept of hybrid intelligent will be tested on a challenging case-study.

The conceptual design of the Java Beamline Simulator, one of the tools which support the proposed framework, is then explained.
