We are the pleasure to invited you to participate in GISR 2017, the fifth national congress on Raman spectroscopies and non linear optical effects, which will take place in Grignano, Trieste on June 7-9, 2017.

GISR 2017 is organized by the Interdivisional Group of the Italian Chemical Society  GISR and it will be held from 7 to 9 June 2017 in the Kastler Hall at the Adriatico Guesthouse of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in the village of Grignano, about 500m from the Castle of Miramare, in Trieste, Italy. The conference follows those organized at the University of Florence (2010), University of Bologna (2012), University of Parma (2014) and University of Padova (2016).
It is a well established meeting point for researchers from academia, research centres and industries, who study and use these spectroscopies in many fields of Chemical, Physical, Biological, Pharmaceutical Sciences and in Engineering and Medicine. It will cover both theoretical aspects and applications.

Papers on the many facets of Raman and nonlinear optical spectroscopies are solicited for contributed oral and poster presentation.

Keynote lectures will be presented on enhanced effects, like SERS , UV Resonant Raman and Stimulated Raman spectroscopy and on novel optical Raman microscopies applied to the fields of biomedical materials and cultural heritages.

The congress welcomes in particular young researchers who will be given the opportunity of reporting and discussing their results. Grants are available to PhD students.

English will be the official language of the meeting.
