European projects InCIMa - Smart Characterization of Smart Materials - ed EXOTHERA - Exosomes for regenerative, immunosuppressive, neuroprotective and oncosuppressive therapies: kick-off meeting
Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, 16-17 March, 2017

On March 16-17, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste hosted the kick-off meetings of the InCIMa and EXOTHERA projects financed by the European Regional Development Fund and by Interreg V-A Italy-Austria 2014-2020. The meeting, opened by Prof. Alfonso Franciosi, Elettra President and CEO, who greeted the participants, was attended by Elettra’s researchers and by the representatives of the partners of the two projects.

  • InCIMa is coordinated by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, in partnership with the University of Applied Sciences of Salzburg and the Paris Lodron University of Salzburg. The aim of the project is to create a cross-border platform for the synthesis and characterization of smart functional materials that can be applied in the field of green building, water purification and sensors for diluted substances of medical and environmental interest.
  • EXOTHERA includes a transnational cooperation network of hospitals of excellence (the two Integrated University Hospitals of Udine and Trieste and Salzburger Landkliniken) and research centres (Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, Paracelsus Medical University of Salzburg and the University of Udine). Its aim is to develop an integrated approach to the study of exosomes, namely small vesicles that allow communication between the cells of the whole body through the transfer of molecules.
