X-ray optics for synchrotron radiation

Daniele Cocco
Sincrotrone Trieste

Abstract
Words like monochromators, resolving power, but also slope errors, aberrations, carbon contamination and so on, are often listened in a synchrotron radiation laboratory. A lot of problem are related with the design and manufacturing of the optics for the beamlines. Some simple and some exotic solutions are adopted to monochromatise and focus the radiation in to the experimental chamber. A general overview of the main problem and best solutions can be useful to understand why a beamline work or not.
