Abstract
The Gas Phase beam line at ELETTRA is devoted to photoabsorption and photoemission experiments on vapour and gaseous samples The studies that can be performed will be of interest in various fields of atomic and molecular physics (fundamental aspects of spectroscopy and dynamics), with possible application to plasma physics and lasers, astrophysics and physics of the atmosphere, chemical reactivity and gas surface interaction. The commissioning is in progress. However, high resolution photoabsorption and angle resolved photoemission experiments can be already performed, within selected energy intervals, on non aggressive chemical species. The beam line characteristics will be presented, with the aid of some recent experimental results.
