Photoionisation of the Sr and Ca atoms

Abstract
This talk will present both electron spectroscopy and fluorescence measurements on vapour phase calcium and strontium, using the Daresbury Synchrotron Radiation Source. These atoms were excited in their p - d resonance regions, and Auger and fluorescence decay of the excited atom monitored. Coincidence measurements were carried out to perform the complete experiment in photoionisation, in which all the photoionisation parameters were measured. A study of double ionisation was also carried out in which the angular correlation between the two ejected electrons was measured.
