Analizing the nature of C60 chemisorption with STM/STS

Abstract
I will talk about experiments were we have analized the chemisorption of C60 molecules on a Si(111) substrate at room temperature. The STM reveals that there exist two states of adsorption diferenciated by the size, the stability and the internal structure of the molecules. We have use, for the interpretation of the data, ab initio calculations of the spatial distribution of the molecular orbitals in a free fullerene. I will also analized the nature of electronic transport through one single C60 molecule using STS techniques.
