Phenomenlogical approach to XAFS Spectroscopy

Abstract
The phenomenological approach to the XAFS Spectroscopy will be recalled. A brief description of a classical way to analyze the data will be illustrated. Some recent results about heterogeneous catalysts will be reported. In particular the interactions between metal clusters and supports, and the structural evolution of a catalytic system during thermal and chemical treatments are discussed.
