Some of the Recent Results from BL411 at MAX-II: Core-Excited Resonant Photoemission Studies of N2,2 and NO

Honghong Wang
Max II, Lund - Sweden

Abstract
New light on decay processes of core-excited molecules and related nuclear dynamics is shed by the combined use of a third-generation synchrotron radiation source and a high-resolution electron spectrometer. Several experiments of this kind have been carried out at the new atomic and molecular physics beam line I411 at MAX-II, Lund, Sweden. Some examples on simple systems will be provided which include: complex interference phenomena in the open-shell molecule NO core-excited below both the N and the O K-edge; Doppler splitting and the issue of core-hole localization in O2; bond distance dependent electron decay probability in N2.
