The workshop TREES aims at bringing together scientists to debate the perspectives and challenges for time resolved experiments within the upgrade of Elettra synchrotron. The recent advent of Free Electron Lasers (FEL) and High Order Harmonic Generation Lasers (HHG) has shown a remarkable growth of the scientific community interested in time resolved dynamics ranging from photochemistry to energy/charge/spin transfer in solid state physics.

TREES aims at identifying science communities that would benefit from short synchrotron pulses with length down to the picosecond range. Moreover as Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste is offering to the user community a portfolio of time resolved instruments based on FEL and HHG sources, the implementation of instruments exploiting Synchrotron radiation would put Elettra on a unique position worldwide.
