IDL 8.9

To install IDL on your computer open an IT support request specifying the details on the computer you want to install it. The ICTSS team will give you instructions about its installation.

The licenses are managed by a license server. After installing IDL please launch the Harris license utility and connect to the license server by entering this information: 

Server:idllm.elettra.eu

Port: 40443

Secure: checked

And click the "connect" button as in this image:



These steps are needed only the first time you use IDL. Afterwards just lauch idl.

Notes for IDL 8.8

IDL 8.9 uses a Next Generation License Server, different from the one used before for IDL versions up to 8.8.
To use IDL 8.8 with the new license server it is needed to install patch 2.0.2 from the same location of the IDL setup software.

Using IDL outside the Elettra LAN

To connect to the license server from outside Elettra it is needed to first connect via VPN.
