Presentation of educational programs for the Western Balkans

The presentation of educational programs for the Western Balkans at the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste in the field of radiation training (SYRTEP-WB) and internships (SYRIP-WB), doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships in the field of synchrotron radiation and application, was held on 18 February 2020 in the University Hall of the Rectorate in Sarajevo.
The gathering was greeted by H. E. Nicola Minasi, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy to BiH, Mr. Ammar Miraščija, Head of the Department of Science at the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Prof. Dr. Maida Čohodar Husić, University of Sarajevo Vice-Rector for Quality and Dr. Giorgio Paolucci.
During the speech, it was emphasized that this event aims to foster scientific cooperation between the Western Balkan countries through the training of researchers at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.
Dr. Giorgio Paolucci presented a broader picture of Elettra's activities with a debate on the impact of research on the lives of citizens and the challenges facing the scientific community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The event was organized by the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste Research Center in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in BiH, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and the University of Sarajevo.
