Scientific Programme

The DIPAC workshop is the right opportunity for the dissemination of information and the getting together of experts and novices in one of the most dynamic and innovative areas of accelerator technology. The workshop will deal with the state-of-the-art instruments of diagnostics for particle accelerators, including free electron lasers and hadron colliders. Topics covered will be position and profile measurements, femtosecond longitudinal diagnostics for single pass FEL, technological issues, new concepts and a lot more. As usual, the industrial exhibition will take place in parallel to the main event to provide the project teams with the information on the state-of-the-art technological achievements.

During the workshop, a trip to ELETTRA will be organized to present the most recent on-going developments. After the visit, the workshop banquet will foster the exchange of ideas in a relaxing environment.

As usual for DIPACs the scientific program includes:

  • Invited talks (10)
  • Contributed talks (9)
  • 2 Poster sessions
  • 1 parallel discussion session (x4)

The detailed scientific programme is available here, the compact single page programme can be downloaded (PDF).

In the following table, the Invited Speakers are listed including the title of their talks.

Daniel Treyer (PSI-CH)
High resolution single-shot BPM systems
Enrico Bravin (CERN)
Review of high resolution transverse beam profile measurement
Axel Winter (DESY-DE)
Sub-ps timing and synchronization systems for longitudinal plane measurements
Gero Kube (DESY-DE)

John Byrd (LBNL-USA)
Advances in the sub-ps x-ray streak camera development
Alessandro Cianchi (INFN-ITA)
Advanced measurements at the SPARC photoinjector
Ralph Steinhagen (CERN)
Tune and Chromaticity measurement

Sessions

The invited and contributed talks will be grouped in oral sessions, each one with a general topic. After each oral session, time slots have been allocated for free discussion to give the audience the opportunity to interact lively with the speakers.

The topics of the discussion sessions will be available on-line well in advance before the event.

Posters will be on display for a time period longer than the poster session; by sharing the same spaces dedicated to the Industrial Exhibition, the interaction between the participants and the authors is maximized.
