Calibration of the beamline slits
This procedure is carried out by the beamline staff at the beginning of each run and applies to both the monochromator entrance slit (horizontal and vertical) and the monochromator exit slit.
- Starting from the open position (at least 40 microns), close the slits in steps of 2 microns until the photon beam is completely stopped.
- From the closed position, re-open the slits, making small steps, up to an opening value of about 40 um.
- The opening of the slit should follow a linear trend, except near the closing point. For each opening of the slit, mesure the I0. Then plot I0 vs slit opening and find the intercept with the orizontal axis. This is defines the zero point.
