Special features - Ring artifacts removal

Pore3D offers several filters for the removal of CT ring artifacts. This issue can be faced in the sinogram domain but also in the reconstructed domain by transforming a reconstructed slice into polar coordinates assuming the center of rings as the center of the Cartesian-to-polar conversion. This latter approach avoids the need of additional imaging data (i.e. images for flat fielding correction and sinogram images).

Artificial test images (ground truth plus corrupted image) are here reported. Python code (exploiting the NumPy and SciPy libraries) is also here publicly offered for scientific purposes.
