Recommended authorship and acknowledgement policy
The results of non-proprietary research performed at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste are expected to be published in the open literature. All authors must observe the principles of integrity in scientific research. When preparing a manuscript based on data collected at Elettra, the main author should make sure that any Elettra staff who substantially contributed to the work receives credit, offering co-authorship when appropriate. Otherwise, their contribution should be explicitly stated in the acknowledgment section. Authorship should be discussed with the Elettra staff during manuscript preparation and well in advance of manuscript submission.

Acknowledgement of staff assistance
- Please acknowledge assistance and help from the beamline staff and/or personnel of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste using the following sentence: "We acknowledge Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste for providing access to its synchrotron radiation facilities and we thank "NAME SURNAME" for assistance in using beamline "NAME OF BEAMLINE";
Acknowledgement of user support programs
- Financial support by the user project "International Users Support (IUS) of Elettra" (proposals allocated from January 2022) must be acknowledged as follows: “We acknowledge Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste for providing access to its synchrotron radiation facilities and for financial support under the IUS internal project". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Financial support by the user project “Supporto per Utenti Italiani (SUI) di Elettra” (proposals allocated from January 2022) must be acknowledged as follows: “We acknowledge Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste for providing access to its synchrotron radiation facilities and for financial support under the SUI internal project". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;

Financial support by the user project Indo-Italian Program of Cooperation (POC) must be acknowledged as follows:
"Con il contributo del Ministero Italiano degli Affari esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale ed il dipartimento indiano della Scienza e Tecnologia." or "Funded by a grant from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Indian Department of Science & Technology". - Financial support by the user project “Programma di supporto agli utenti italiani di Elettra” (proposals allocated from June 1st, 2017 to December 31st, 2021) must be acknowledged as follows: “We acknowledge Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste for providing access to its synchrotron radiation facilities and for financial support". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Acknowledgment of financial support by Laserlab-Europe (V) (proposals allocated from December 1st, 2019 to November 30th, 2023) is mandatory, using the following sentence: “The research leading to this result has been supported by the project Laserlab-Europe under Grant Agreement 871124 from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Acknowledgment of financial support by CALIPSOplus (proposals allocated from June 1st, 2017 to October 31st, 2021) is mandatory, using the following sentence: "The research leading to this result has been supported by the project CALIPSOplus under Grant Agreement 730872 from the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation HORIZON 2020". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence. In the case of publications with co-authorship of Elettra staff, Open Access is strongly recommended. Users are encouraged to contact in case of doubts.
- Acknowledgment of financial support by Laserlab-Europe (IV) (proposals allocated from December 1st, 2015 to November 30th, 2019) is mandatory, using the following sentence: “The research leading to this result has been supported by the project Laserlab-Europe under Grant Agreement 654148 from the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013)". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Acknowledgment of financial support by CALIPSO (proposals allocated from June 1st, 2012 to May 31st, 2015) is mandatory, using the following sentence: "The research leading to this result has been supported by the project CALIPSO under Grant Agreement 312284 from the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013)". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Acknowledgment of financial support by the Biostruct - X Project is mandatory, using the following acknowledgement: "The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement nº 283570". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence;
- Acknowledgment of financial support by the Elisa Project (proposals allocated before August 31st, 2011) is mandatory, using the following sentence: "The research leading to these results has received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement nº 226716". Acknowledgment of staff assistance, if appropriate, should be added to the previous sentence.
- All publications deriving from a funded proposal in the framework in the Italy-India Joint Science and Technology Cooperation must acknowledge the support: "Con il contributo del Ministero degli Affari esteri e della Cooperazione Internazionale" or "Funded in part by a grant from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation".
