The first paper of the InCIMa project has been published by the team of the Paris-Lodron University Salzburg: Andreas Reyer, Maurizio Musso and Gilles R. Bourret (coorespondig author) in Nano Letters journal (DOI: 10.1021/acs.nanolett.8b03608). Enjoy the reading!

Congratulations to the the young resercher Thomas Sepperer, working for the InCIMa project, who reported the results obtained under the supervision of Dr. Gianluca Tondi from Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, on Wastewater remediation with formaldehyde free tannin-furanic foam powders in the Proceedings from the COST Action FP1407 Final Conference in Belgrade, Serbia, 12-13 December 2018.

The first joint paper of the cross-boarder InCIMa team have been published in the Proceedings of the 9th Conference on Industrial Computed Tomography, Padova, Italy (iCT 2019) on the topic X-ray and FTIR ยต-CTs for morphological and chemical characterization of eco-sustainable insulating foams.

On the capacity of tannin and lignig foams to remove different pollutants like neutral, cationic, and anionic organic molecules from wastewater, Dr. Thomas Sepperer published on the international journal Polymers a paper titled Pollutant Absorption as a Possible End-Of-Life Solution for Polyphenolic Polymers (doi: 10.3390/polym11050911).

With the attempt to improve the quality of tannin foams, the team of Prof. Tondi worked on easy and fast strategies for the purification of tannin extracts. The results of the research have been recently published in the international journal Industrial Crops and Products by Thomas Sepperer and co-authors: Purification of industrial tannin extract through simple solid-liquid extractions.

The results of the joint efforts on the characterization of the complex mechanisms of polymerization of the furfuryl alcohol has been published on the peer-review open access journal Polymers: Understanding the Polymerization of Polyfurfuryl Alcohol: Ring Opening and Diels-Alder Reactions, by Gianluca Tondi and the entire InCIMa team (https://doi.org/10.3390/polym11122126), and a second paper has been accepeted for publications in Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy (2021): Chemical constitution of polyfurfuryl alcohol investigated by FTIR and Resonant Raman spectroscopy.

On the newest tannin-foam formulations published Jonas Eckardt and Jonas Neubauer with the InCIMa team in the open-access journal Polymers (2020): Synthesis and Characterization of High-Performing Sulfur-Free Tannin Foams.

On the topic of plasmonic devices for enhanced sensing capabilities, several other papers have been published on prestigious international journals. Here you have the list:

Morphology-Graded Silicon Nanowire Arrays via Chemical Etching: Engineering Optical Properties at the Nanoscale and Macroscale, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces (2020)

Hybrid carbon spherogels: carbon encapsulation of nano-titania, Chem. Commun. (2021)

Surface-Enhanced Infrared Absorption Microscopy reveals subtle protein secondary structure variations, Nanoscale (2021)

More InCIMa scientific results are still in progress....continue to follow us!
