The transformation of cutting edge competences into international scientific partnerships, prestigious publications, books and patents: these and many other important achievements are a summary of the multidisciplinary research activities carried out in the Departments of the University of Udine, the Interdepartmental centres, the Centre of excellence for the study of muscle plasticity (Mati) and the special facilities devoted to specific faculties or lines of research: the Azienda agraria (University farm) ‘A. Servadei’, the University Hospital, Cirmont-the International mountain research centre, and the Consortia Friuli Formazione and Friuli Innovazione, which has managed the Science and technology park at Udine since 2004.
