Chemical Lab 1

Chemical Lab 1 is conveniently located near the Elettra Experimental Hall, providing straightforward access for research activities. The facility is equipped with essential instrumentation to support fundamental chemical procedures in a secure and controlled environment. Typical operations include acid treatments, preparation of chemical solutions, sample cleaning, and metallographic polishing.
The laboratory is primarily dedicated to standard sample preparation, that support advanced analytical and experimental research. Beyond its core facilities, it features chemical fume hoods, dedicated storage cabinets for solvents and reagents, freezers for chemical preservation at 4 °C and –20 °C, and systems for producing pure and ultrapure water (Type 1 and Type 2).
Additional equipment includes magnetic stirrers, ultrasonic baths, a centrifuge, technical and analytical balances, and vacuum pumps for solution filtration. Together, these resources enable the safe and efficient execution of routine chemical operations, ensuring the laboratory remains well-suited for essential preparation and processing tasks rather than advanced synthetic chemistry.
