Chemical Lab 2

Chemical Lab 2 is located on the ground floor of building T1, adjacent to the Elettra experimental hall. The facility is equipped with a broad range of instrumentation designed to support medium-complexity chemical operations as well as selected biochemical procedures. In addition to routine laboratory activities, the lab is capable of performing bench-scale instrumental analyses, offering researchers access to tools such as UV-VIS and IR spectrophotometers, circular dichroism spectrometers, and rotary evaporators. The laboratory is also furnished with chemical fume hoods, cabinets for the safe storage of solvents and chemicals, vacuum pumps for solution filtrations, analytical and technical balances, magnetic stirrers, and other essential laboratory equipment. For the safe preservation of biological and chemical samples, the laboratory is further equipped with a −80 °C ultrafreezer, which ensures long-term stability and reliability of stored materials. The laboratory is further complemented by dedicated systems for the production of pure and ultrapure water (Type I and Type II), which are essential for high-quality analytical and biochemical applications. These systems guarantee a consistent and reliable supply of water with the appropriate purity grade required for sensitive experimental protocols.
The facility complies with the highest safety standards and is well suited for the execution of more demanding experimental protocols than those typically carried out in Chemical Lab 1. Its versatility and advanced equipment make it a valuable resource for the research community, providing the infrastructure needed for a wide variety of experimental approaches, from analytical chemistry to specialized biochemical studies. |
