Reaching Elettra - Sincrotrone Trieste from Trieste Airport

By car

By coach to Trieste (city centre) + by bus to Basovizza

Take the coach number 51 to Trieste operated by TPL FVG, get off at the stop next the Railway Station.
The ride takes about 50 minutes. Timetables can be downloaded from the TPL Gorizia website (only in Italian!).
Fare: €3.90 (one way). Once in Trieste, you have to continue to Basovizza by bus or by taxi.

By taxi

Taxis can be found just in front of the arrival terminal at Trieste airport. The service is available 8 am to 12 pm.

Fare: To Trieste downtown around €65

Ride takes 30 to 40 minutes, depending on traffic.

 

By train to Trieste (city centre) + by bus to Basovizza

The railway station Trieste Airport – Ronchi dei Legionari is connected to the terminal by a short 2-minute covered walkway.
Take a regional or Frecciarossa train to Trieste Centrale (approx. 30 minutes). Check timetables on Trenitalia.it
Once in Trieste, go to the bus stop n. 51, in Piazza della Libertà, next to the railway station, to reach Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste in Basovizza
