25.3 The last beam of Elettra

2025.07.02: After 32 years of light, today at 12:30 the Elettra beam was switched off for good. A period of at least 1.5 years is required to dismantle the current technical facility, and to install and commission the new one. Elettra 2.0 will launch its user programme in 2027.
We thank our users for the remarkable scientific experience shared over the years, and we look forward to starting again together with all of you.

25.2 End of user beamtimes

2025.06.21: All user beamtimes have been successfully performed at the BaDElPh@VUV beamline of the Elettra storage ring. Synchrotron beam is now available for our branchline until July 2, 2025.

25.1 Update: first beam & commissioning  

2025.01.15: The first beam has been delivered to the BaDElPh end station from the VUV beamline. The commissioning of BaDElPh@VUV will continue in the coming weeks until the allocated user beamtimes.

24.2 Update: start of the end station bake-out

2024.12.18: The bake-out of the BaDElPh end station has just started and will continue throughout the upcoming holidays, Season's Greetings 2025.

24.1 Information for Users

2024.11.28: BaDElPh has been moved to the final position in Elettra 2.0, and its end station is temporarily connected to the VUV-Photoemission beamline.
