Thursday 12 July, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste received a visit from a delegation of Chinese high officials of MOST (Ministry of Science and Technology), accompanied by a few lecturers of the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, within a training programme organised in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Environment, the University of Rome La Sapienza, the Italy-China Foundation and the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climatic Change.
The visitors are currently in Italy to participate in a course entitled “Innovative Science Parks and research/industry collaborations” which is aimed at highlighting the policies to support enterprises, the role by institutions in favour of research and entrepreneurship and the creation of centres of excellence, such as science and technology parks, multidisciplinary research centres and services supporting technology transfer.
The guests were welcomed by the President and CEO of Elettra, prof. Alfonso Franciosi, who introduced the research centre, and by the Manager of the Industrial Liaison Office (ILO), Mr. Marco Peloi, who stressed the connections with the manufacturing industry and technology transfer in particular. Led by Mr. Matteo Amati, the delegation completed their morning visit with a viewing of Elettra’s experimental hall.
