The annual Fonda-Fasella award ceremony was held on November 30, 2016, during the Elettra Users' Meeting "New Frontiers and Advanced Applications of 4th generation light sources to Atomic, Molecular, Optical, and Cl". The Fonda-Fasella prize is awarded to a young researcher who has obtained important results while working at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste.

This year the winner was Dr. Eugenio Ferrari, from the EPFL – École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, who presented the paper "Control of the pulse properties in a seeded FEL". pdf
