NGSCES 2019 - New Generation in Strongly Correlated Electron Systems

NGSCES 2019, 2 - 6 Settembre 2019

This year we celebrate the 10th edition of the international conference NGSCES 2019 - New Generation in Strongly Correlated Electron Systems. This edition has been held in Italy, in Silvi Marina (TE), close to the city of Pescara. More than 85 participants from 20 different countries enjoyed the beautiful venue and a friendly atmosphere due to the young and motivated attendants. The aim of this annual conference is to review the state of the art and highlight the new trends in the theoretical understanding and experimental investigations of strongly correlated electron systems and of novel materials, and to encourage the participation of researchers at an early stage of their career.

The participants, mainly PhD students, Post-Docs and young group leaders enjoyed scientific discussions and exchanged new ideas in the fields of strongly correlated electron systems, topological materials, novel techniques and new theoretical and computational approaches. Almost every participant had the opportunity to actively contribute to the scientific discussion: the program included 15 talks from invited speakers (including 5 keynote contributions), 50 contributed talks and 15 poster presentations. The time spent together in the conference venue encouraged participants to foster discussions and collaborations, in particular between emergent and more experienced scientists.

The conference has been co-organized by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste (Federico Cilento), the University of Wurzburg (Domenico Di Sante), the University of Fribourg (Claude Monney); sponsors Optoprim and Light Conversion.
