Elettra and INFN hosted the 44th SESAME Council Meeting

On the 8th and 9th of May, Elettra and INFN hosted the 44th meeting of the SESAME Council in Trieste. The event took place in the prestigious Sala Maggiore of the Chamber of Commerce of Trieste, which generously offered the location.
SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) is a third-generation synchrotron light source that was officially opened in Allan (Jordan) on 16 May 2017. It is the first synchrotron light source in the Middle East and neighbouring countries, and also the region’s first major international centre of excellence. Its current Members are Cyprus, Egypt, Iran (Islamic Republic of), Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Palestine, and Türkiye. On the 9th, Delegates to the Council visited Elettra’s beamlines, fostering further collaborations between SESAME and Italian research institutions |
