Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste has introduced ElettraBot, an advanced digital assistant based on artificial intelligence, designed to support researchers in the beamlines and laboratories of Elettra and FERMI. The first prototype, TwinBot, has been successfully implemented in the TwinMic beamline, specialized in X-ray microscopy with sub-micrometric resolution. TwinBot provides immediate access to technical and experimental information, responding in real time to questions in natural language and improving researchers' efficiency. This innovation has the potential to be extended to other beamlines, positioning Elettra at the forefront of AI integration in scientific infrastructures. AI not only automates repetitive tasks but also analyzes large volumes of data, facilitating innovative discoveries. With the TwinBot project, Elettra marks an important step toward optimizing scientific research, combining efficiency and innovation.
