Construction of the new foundations for Elettra 2.0 has begun

With the removal of the existing bases now complete, work has entered a key phase leading up to the installation of the new Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste accelerator: the pouring of the new foundations. This step is essential, as these structures will provide the stability and extremely high precision required for the accelerator and its components to operate correctly.

The completion of this stage symbolically represents the “laying of the first stone” of the new facility, marking the transition from design to construction. It opens the way to the next assembly phases and to the beginning of Elettra’s transformation into Elettra 2.0 — a technical milestone that also carries strong symbolic value, turning plans into a concrete reality.
