Elettra and INFN will host IPAC23, the 14th International Particle Accelerator Conference (IPAC), in Venice Lido.

Each year, IPAC, rotating around Europe, Asia/Oceania and America, brings together over 1400 researchers and technology experts who study and design different types of particle accelerators for a number of applications, from particle physics studies to synchrotron light or medical and industrial applications.

The location of the conference, scheduled from 7 to 12 May 2023, was selected by the Organizing Committee (OC) of IPAC20 in Caen (France) on 30 November; in the voting, the Italian application was selected over the application filed by UK organizations. Fifty percent of members of IPAC20 OC are also members of the board of EPS (European Physical Society) Accelerator Group and fifty percent include an equal number of representatives of America and Asia.

IPAC23 local organizing committee, chaired by Alessandro Fabris (Elettra) and Giovanni Bisoffi (INFN) includes representatives of Elettra, INFN and the University of Padua.
