On May 19th, at the ESRF – European Synchrotron Radiation Facility in Grenoble, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste and SESAME (Synchrotron-light for Experimental Science and Applications in the Middle East) signed an agreement for the transfer of the W140, a magnetic structure used for the production of synchrotron light and made available as part of Elettra’s upgrade programme.
The agreement was signed during the SESAME Council meeting by Giorgio Paolucci, Chief Scientific Officer of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, and Khaled Toukan, Director of SESAME, marking a further step in the scientific and technological collaboration between the two research infrastructures.
The cooperation between Elettra and SESAME builds on a long-standing collaboration developed over the years through technical consultancy, training activities, and the transfer of expertise and scientific instrumentation. The initiative is also part of the international cooperation activities supported by the Italian Ministry of University and Research through the Elettra 2.0 project.
