FameLab 2015 at Trieste - registration open

Are you into science? Are you a good communicator?
Do you know anybody with these features?
There is FameLab, the science talent show!

Are you a scientist, a researcher or a university student? Are you good at communicating what your research is all about? If so, FameLab is just what you need! This science talent show sets out to support and encourage young scientists to use their communication skills: all they have is 3 minuts and a fistful of words to win over the general public and the jury, telling them about a scientificic topic they particularly like, in a way that is amusing and easy to grasp.

The best communicators will win a cash prize and will have the chance to participate in a masterclass on science communication, as well as to enter the international competition! Presentations can be given in Italian or in English. FameLab was launched in 2005 in the UK by Cheltenham Science Festival; the event is promoted at an international level, in 28 countries, by British Council.

Two Elettra researchers - Michele Manfredda and Riccardo Cucini - attended the last edition: the latter was the winner of the selection of Trieste and ranked third in the national final which took place in Perugia, also winning the prize of the jury.

The Trieste competition is organized by the Science Centre Immaginario Scientifico, the Municipality of Trieste, the University of Trieste and SISSA- The International School for Advanced Studies, and it will take place on February 20th 2015, the Teatro Miela.
