FEL

FELs of Europe has published a new brochure titled “Free-Electron Lasers: Delivering Brilliant Science – Breakthroughs from the Last 10 Years”. This collaborative effort, initiated by the FELs of Europe Steering Committee and the Strategy Group 2 (SG2) of LEAPS, highlights key scientific advancements achieved through free-electron lasers (FELs) over the past 10 years. The brochure is available for distribution to researchers, funding agencies, and other stakeholders, with printed copies available upon request.

Upcoming events in 2025 include the PhotonDiag Conference will take place in Liverpool from September 2-4, followed by the FELs of Europe Topical Workshop on Selected Problems in FEL Physics, tentatively scheduled for September 24-26 in Grado, Italy.

FELs of Europe is also in the process of extending its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for another six years, ensuring continued collaboration until 2030. The initiative brings together 14 facilities across 10 countries, working on cutting-edge FEL and short-pulse light source technologies to advance research in physics, chemistry, materials science, and life sciences.
