On February 24-25 a hands-on workshop on multimodal submicron IR, Raman, and fluorescence imaging, was held at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste jointly organized with Photothermal Spectroscopy Corporation within the PRP@CERIC framework. More than 50 participants learned about Optical Photothermal Infrared Microscopy (O-PTIR), a breakthrough technique enabling simultaneous submicron IR and Raman microscopy with co-located epi-fluorescence, including Widefield O-PTIR® for fast, fluorescence-enhanced imaging. The workshop featured expert talks, real-world research applications, and live demonstrations of the mIRage-LS system on February 25 at the SISSI Bio OFF-line facility.
SISSI Bio OFF-line is the infrared vibrational spectroscopy facility at Elettra, recently renovated thanks to the project Pathogens Readiness Platform for CERIC-ERIC upgrade (PRP@CERIC), leaded by Area Science Park, and open to users through a peer-reviewed selection process following dedicated Elettra and CERIC-ERIC calls for proposals. Chemical details can be achieved at different scale of spatial resolution, from the macro-scale (FTIR spectroscopy) to the micro (FTIR microscopy), sub-micron (Optical Photothermal Infrared microscopy) and the nano-scale (IR nanoscopy) on bulk materials, surfaces and interfaces. More details on SISSI-Bio offline setup and applications may be found at this link. |
