Henry Chapman, scientist at Germany’s DESY Lab and Professor of Physics at the University of Hamburg, has been awarded the Leibniz Prize, for his pioneering work in the development of femtosecond crystallography.

Professor Chapman has been a partner and a collaborator of Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste in the development of the Coherent Imaging beamline DIPROI at FERMI and we are pleased that, when this prestigious award was announced, he was in Trieste as invited speaker in our International Workshop on Advances in X-Ray Imaging.
