On Monday, April 29th, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste hosted classes 5°LSA A and 5°LSA C of the I.S.I.S 'Malignani' from Udine for an educational visit to our research center. The day was divided into two parts: a theoretical lesson on the functioning of the light beamline and a practical demonstration of two experiments using our state-of-the-art instruments. The students followed our researchers' presentations with interest, gaining a clear understanding of the synchrotron's applications in fields such as nanotechnology, alternative energy, archaeology, medical research, and structural biology. In particular, the presentations on the molecular structure of the HIV virus and tomography illustrated the functioning of our facilities and the research process. We were pleased to share our work with the students, hoping to inspire future generations of scientists. |
