On Monday 2 September a 4 days "Training school for applications of synchrotron light in cultural heritage studies" has started!
Supported by IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency), 4 conservators and restorers from Heritage Malta (national agency for museums, conservation practice and cultural heritage of the Government of Malta) have been welcomed by Franco Zanini (X-Ray Imaging Specialist - Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste), Ilaria Carlomagno (Beamline scientist - Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste) and Chiaramaria Stani (CERIC-ERIC Scientific Collaborator at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste), directors of the school. In the next days the attendees will be involved  in lectures and practicals on synchrotron radiation techniques, a proposal-writing tips and tricks session, and a round table with experts of IR and X-ray techniques.

This initiative is part of a broader collaboration between Elettra and Malta Heritage for the next 3 years. The aim of this cooperation is to share knowledge and resources, enhancing the application of synchrotron light in cultural heritage studies, to develop educational and research programmes in this field, also offering support for both historical research and conservation and preservation strategies.
