The "NTP" Workshop that took place at the Adriatico Guesthouse - ICTP in Trieste on November 30 and December 1, 2023  was part of the XXVIII Elettra Users' Meeting

This Nanoscale Transport Phenomena themed workshop was aimed at starting a deeper discussion among instrumental scientists of the FERMI free electron laser (FEL), users and internationally recognized experts in the fields of phonon, spin and charge transport.

The unique capability of FERMI of delivering photon pulses in the extreme ultraviolet and soft X-ray range with high stability, coherence and tunability (both in photon energy and polarization) has been used to implement a number of time-domain methods, so indeed it represents a great potential for studying transport phenomena.

The workshop was organized in three sessions, dedicated to phonon, spin and charge transport, plus a poster session and a round table discussion, where all participants can share ideas and perspectives, also in the context of the FERMI 2.0 upgrade project.
