The initiative is part of a joint training program under the Slovenian Recovery and Resilience Plan (RRP), coordinated by ARIS in cooperation with SPIRIT Slovenia Business Development. The aim is to strengthen collaboration between the two executive agencies and improve the integrated management of the Slovenian development and innovation ecosystem.
Participants included representatives from ARIS, SPIRIT Slovenia, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sport, and the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development. The visit to Trieste was part of an annual international study tour showcasing best practices, organized within the training framework.

The program began at the Basovizza Campus with institutional presentations from Area Science Park and Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste mainly focusing on the technology transfer activities. The delegation then toured the FERMI free-electron laser and Elettra synchrotron facilities, guided by the Industrial Liaison Office representatives.
In the afternoon, the group split into three subgroups for thematic visits to laboratories and innovative companies in the Science and Technology Park: Life Sciences, Innovative Materials, and Digital and Innovation at the Basovizza Campus. The day concluded with a farewell session, highlighting the value of cross-border cooperation in the fields of research and innovation.
