The 5th Sostero Award assigned to François Polack

The 5th Sostero Award has been assigned on 3 September 2024 to François Polack (consultant on optical programs at Soleil) during the 8th International Workshop on Metrology for X-ray Optics, Mirror Design and Fabrication (IWXM 2024) - Berlin (Germany), 2-5 September 2024.
The award acknowledges Polacks' continuous efforts in the innovation and promotion of the x-ray optics field together with his mentoring and support activity.
Giovanni Sostero led the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste soft x-rays metrology lab until his passing away in 2012.
In 2012 the colleagues Daniele Cocco, Mourad Idir and Marco Zangrando promoted this award recognizing the work activity of the most influential and distinguished scientist in the field of x-ray metrology and optics.

The Giovanni Sostero award was presented the first time at the MEADOW workshop in Trieste (2013) and has been supported by Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste since then. |
