Trieste, February 5, 2025 – The Consul General of Romania in Trieste, Dr. Adina Lovin, visited the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste research center today, meeting with Romanian colleagues working within the facility.

During the visit, Dr. Lovin attended a presentation by Prof. Alfonso Franciosi in the Elettra Experimental Hall, which was also attended by Iulia Cojocariu, Dan Cojoc, Andrei Lazar, Claudia Lorena Timoce, and Silvano Lizzit. The meeting provided an important opportunity for dialogue between the Consul and Romanian researchers, who play an active role in the center's scientific community.
 
Following the presentation, the Consul visited the SuperESCA beamline, led by Silvano Lizzit, an infrastructure developed through a collaboration between Elettra and Romania. Here, the potential of synchrotron light for advanced research was illustrated, with a focus on applications in physics and materials chemistry.

The visit strengthened ties between the Romanian scientific community and the Trieste research center, highlighting the contribution of Romanian researchers and the value of international collaborations in science and technology.
